Some people compromised by a serious condition have experienced relationship problems
either with their:
Husband / Wife / Partner
Children
Family
Friends
Employers
Or a combination of these groups.
About 12% of persons experience a relationship problem.
For some the relationship was considered to be unstable before the person was compromised
by a chronic condition.
Other relationship problems arise as the person experiences denial and fear of the
future, more so if they begin to consider that the chronic condition makes them less
of a person.
For siblings, if their parent has a chronic condition, they may see them as being
different from other children’s parents. However, children are very resilient, being
honest with them is best.
