Dysaesthesia - An abnormal sensation, defined as an unpleasant, abnormal sense of touch that may or may not be considered as a kind of pain.

A person experiencing the symptoms caused by this condition can find it to be unbearable at times.

Dysesthetic burning sensation may be described as the bluntest pain of which the human body is capable, and is characterised by the absence of accurate discriminative information.

Temperature change and heat may both affect the sensation and raise the level of the steady pain.

This pain sensation may rise from tonic light touch, phasic rubbing, or rough textures to become evoked pain.

At this point the person often cannot endure the touch of clothing. Their life can become an exercise in avoiding evoked pain.

Causing

Difficulty in obtaining rest

An hysterical search for relief of the pain

A degree of resignation and feeling of hopelessness

Depression.

A person may consider that they have become less than a person as their identity is masked by their effort to avoid this condition.
