Amitriptyline - Triptafen®                                                                                                                                                                                                            

Amitriptyline belongs to the tricyclic class of antidepressants. It works by altering the way in which the central nervous system reacts to pain. Amitriptyline is given orally as tablets. Dosages vary, and it is often taken at night as it can cause drowsiness. Amitriptyline normally takes between two to four weeks to take effect.
