The Secret Life of MS’

Proventus has been working amongst MS people studying, researching and learning about the disease. We have gone into their homes, we ask them what they want, what problems they have to surmount, what they have experienced, what help do they receive. What we have seen and learnt has been very difficult to believe. What we have learnt has provided one of the cornerstones of the wellness programme we are developing.

It’s a disgrace and many should hang their head in shame - that is if they know what shame is?

WARNING - The scenes on the Tina film are quite graphic.

The ‘Secret Life of MS’ is a 9 minute film

that is intended to show the world what MS can become for some sufferers.

They are the

‘INVISIBLE MS PEOPLE’

It is graphic - It is factual.

It was filmed at the request of Tina who - like

so many invisible MS people - want some answers .

MS people are advised not to view this footage.

Tina is one of the unfortunate MS people and although many never become compromised

as much as her she still represents thousands of neglected sufferer’s.

Tina lives in one room on the chair where you see her sitting, she eats, sleeps and never moves out of that chair except when she is hoisted out to go to the bathroom. Tina has secondary progressive and was rapidly losing weight - Dec 2009 she weighed about 84 lb - 33 kilo’s, unable to move her pain levels rose dramatically and weakness slowly crept upon her.

Since Christmas 2009 Tina has gained 7 lb since our intervention.

Tina is forced to fund her own medication for MS, she, her family and friends all contribute to purchase the only medication

that helps alleviate her MS problems.

Without intense support Tina will further deteriorate, lack of mobility or compromised mobility has  lead to muscle atrophy and muscle / body weakness.

This should never of been allowed to happen, although MS is the underlying problem many of her problems are not caused by MS.

Tina’s would never be in this situation if she had not been neglected.

There is no real support offered - the support they need - leaving MS sufferers such as Tina hidden away from sight, left to endure pain, weakness, depression and loneliness.

WOULD YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS?

This has been happening across the UK and worldwide for years and years and years, what has been done to rectify this situation?

Would you want your MUM - SISTER - WIFE - HUSBAND - SON - BROTHER - DAD to be treated like this?

Despite what you may read in the newspapers or listen to on the television very little is actually done for these people. There are articles written by ‘health editors’ who have never been in an MS sufferers house, who have never got up from behind their desks to investigate and confront these problems face to face - there are celebrity doctors and others who appear on television talking about MS but when you analyse it they also have never met a MS sufferer and usually have a product to endorse or a book to sell. Millions are donated for research, charitable acts are undertaken, yet the amount of money as a percentage of donated funds small.

“THERE MAY APPEAR TO BE NO PROFIT IN HELP OR CURE”

Proventus apologises if these film clips are upsetting, unfortunately it is reality. There is no good reason for Tina to be in this situation

Tina asked for this film to be made.  She is where she is because of neglect, incompetence and ignorance.

Tina  is NOT a unique or even rare case  there are many thousands of people worldwide who have been written off by their community as untreatable and are left to manage as best they can on their own.

Many people worldwide are in the same situation as Tina

Time waits for nobody
