Nicotinamide - also known as niacinamide and nicotinic acid amide, is the amide of
nicotinic acid (vitamin B3 / niacin).
Nicotinamide is a water-soluble vitamin and is part of the vitamin B group.
Nicotinic acid, also known as niacin, is converted to nicotinamide in vivo, and,
though the two are identical in their vitamin functions, nicotinamide does not have
the same pharmacologic and toxic effects of niacin, which occur incidental to niacin's
conversion.
Para-aminobenzoic Acid. A member of the B vitamins. Part of the folic acid molecule.
Because it is a moiety of PGA, a form of folic acid, some do not consider it a vitamin,
but only a B-complex factor.
Involved in:
Assists in the metabolism and utilisation of amino acids. (Is part of the coenzyme
tetrahydrofolic acid).
Important for skin, hair pigment, and intestinal health.
Supportive of blood cells, particularly the red blood cells.
Supports folic acid production by the intestinal bacteria.
Synthesized by the natural bacteria flora in the intestines.
Note - Excessive levels of PABA are stored in the body and may cause liver damage.
Best with - Vitamin C, B group vitamins and Folic Acid
