Salmonella                                                                                                                                                                                                   

Probably the most common agent in food poisoning. Usually passed to the host by poor Hygiene; can be caught from most foodstuffs but shellfish and fish are very susceptical.

 

Salmonella attacks the stomach and small intestine and in the more serious cases it can enter the lymph system. Infection is usually more dangerous to the very young or old.

 

Symptoms of Salmonella poisoning include:

 

Salmonella will generally remain in the Digestive system until it is removed as the body will learn to live with it, after it has tried to remove it by excreting it by Diarrhoea and vomiting.
