Ayurveda
The natural healing system of India. In Sanskrit, the word “Ayurveda” means ‘science of life’. Ayu means life or daily living, and Veda means knowing.
Ayurveda was first recorded in the Vedas, the world’s oldest literature. The Vedic system, including Ayurveda was in practice before 4000 B.C.
Ayurveda is a system of traditional medicine native to India, and practiced in other parts of the world as a form of alternative medicine.
Ayurveda remains an influential system of medicine in South Asia
Ayurveda assists the healthy person to maintain their health, and a diseased person to regain their health using herbal medicines, dietetics, bodywork, surgery (rarely), psychology and spirituality.
