Homeopathy
From the Greek words “Homolos” meaning similar and “Pathos” meaning suffering.
Homeopathy focus’s on the whole person and the body's natural defence system, this complementary system of medicine developed in Germany at the end of the eighteenth century.
It employs the basic principle of 'let like cure like'.
This is based on the observation that individuals who have an illness or a condition can be helped by substances that produce similar symptoms when given to healthy individuals. Homoeopathic remedies contain a substance in an extremely diluted form. Many remedies are so dilute as to no longer contain a single molecule of the original substance. Homoeopathy also takes very much into account the personal characteristics of the individual. This means that rather than there being a specific remedy always applicable for a given symptom, remedies will often be different according to personal characteristics and not just the type of illness.
It recognizes the Body's built-
Disease is the body's way of indicating that it needs help. The principle is to reinforce the body's efforts by administering very small or infinitesimal doses of a substance, which if taken in large quantities over a period of time would produce the same symptoms as the disease the body is enduring.
Although the use of Homoeopathy is widespread, research into is effects is sparse. Its value as a treatment for MS may be considered to be controversial, particularly if it is used as an alternative to conventional treatment rather than as a complement to other treatment.
Due to the extreme dilution of the substances involved, homoeopathic remedies are considered to be safe.
Potentisation -
These specific dilution ratios with successions of shaking is continued to various levels called potencies.
Lesser dilutions are referred to as low potencies.
Greater dilutions are referred to as high potencies.
High potencies work deeper into the nervous system creating a larger potent effect upon the body's natural healing responses. Homeopathy is said to activate the body’s healing process’s at its physical, mental and emotional levels.
